INADE

S.E.T.I.

MICHAEL NORTHAM

Since his earliest memories of family journeys through desert state of Utah, Michael Northam has been intimately and directly inspired by vast geographies, severe weather and and other impressive natural events and places. This life long fascination of the phenomena of perception and experience faced with intimidating scales (large or small) continues to the foundation of his work with sound and images.
His work is the continuation of more than 15 years active art-life-travel which has brought him to visit, work with, and learn from over 90 artists from over 50 locations in 25 countries.

Currently using specially prepared instruments such as the Magnetic Table Harp (a controllable magnetic resonance machine that acts simultaneously as a stringed instrument, a large contact microphone and a tone processor) as well as computer processing, prepared recordings (such as potatoes frying, wind moving through trees and walks through foliage) and a range of sounding objects--Michael explores the no-man's land between improvisation and acousmatic composition. A delicate position poised in search of the ever elusive morphological 'flow' where sound and action melt together and the eidetic triggering of sound as pure material transcends playing into the territory of 'sonic compost'—that which feeds our insatiable need to listen deeper.

MARCUS MAEDER

Marcus Maeder is a sound artist and composer. He studied Art at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Lucerne and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Philosophy at the University of Hagen. Maeder runs the music label domizil, which he co-founded in 1996 with Bernd Schurer. He has worked as an editor and producer for the Swiss radio station DRS and has been working as a curator at the Institute for Computer Music and Sound Technology of the Zurich University of the Arts since 2005. His artistic work focuses mainly on computer music and the artistic and media extensions of the term. As an author, Maeder has written on a number of topics in the fields of sound art and digital media.

DEER HAPPY PLACE

When singer Romanie Marty calls out, the musicians hark and follow. This time’s follower is pianist Marcus Rager who accompanies Ms Marty with an E-Churchorgan. Putting together drama and sacredness the duo invented „Sacral Chanson“. Tearful and fierce, heartwarming and melancholic, irritating but still well-known. Ça vous donnera la chair de poule! Mais oui!

SIEBEN

Matt Howden about his project SIEBEN:

"I’ve developed SIEBEN so that I can play live without any backing. I use a loop pedal, a violin and my voice. I can start with a simple melody, add a bass part or two, some ‘drums’ by playing beats on various parts of the violin (‘kick’ behind the strings, ‘snare’ by slapping the body, and ‘shaker’ by scratching the pickup with my chin etc etc), harmonies and melodies over the top. Over this I can sing and play.

It’s been great doing this live, and I have really noticed that it has had much more effect on people in the audience. They can see the songs growing, right in front of them, and see how the layers of the song are made, as they start to build up."

STROTTER INST.

After more than ten years of making music with turntables, tapes and loops the swiss based musician, artist, performer and architect Christoph Hess started in 1998 the project Strotter Inst. to concentrate just on the manipulation of turntables not using any records or sounds made by someone or something else.

Live, Strotter Inst. is generating dense sound- and rhythmstructures by using five modified and manipulated lenco-turntables and various cut or scotched records. The music ranges from a low-fi rumble changing into concrete clicks and scrapes, followed by epic drones and multilayered broken beats to fall back into tricky bass-meditations. The anacronistic machineries have dual roles as objects and as instruments. The first live impact is as installations, then the sounds start to grab the listeners' attention. The auditive level surpasses the visual one. Therefore, the optical comprehension of how the sound is generated plays an important role. In spite or probably because of the analogue creation the structures produce a contemporary and accurate athmosphere in space and time. Strotter Inst. prefers to play in the middle of the audience. The installation is set up especially for each room. Except for the PA, Strotter Inst. brings along all the material he uses. The basic structures for every gig are noted. The set is adapted for each rooms conditions and depends upon the uncertain behaviour of the machines. So each live appearence becomes an acoustic original.

DEUTSCH NEPAL + ex-DLSODW + DEER HAPPY PLACE

DEUTSCH NEPAL (swe)
EX - DEAD LETTERS SPELL OUT DEAD WORDS (swe)

+ DJ Roger Rotor

September 10th, 2011 @ Bazillus Zürich

Ticket Presales @ Klangkurier

It is recommended to use our presales as space will be very limited.

DEUTSCH NEPAL

Deutsch Nepal is the solo project of Swedish electronic musician Lina Baby Doll (real name Peter Andersson, co-founder with Roger Karmanik of the label Cold Meat Industry) that shuns the ambient fad of the 1990's and remains faithful to 1980's industrial music.

Former member of Swedish industrial cult band Njurmännen, Lina Baby Doll set up his own musical project in 1991. Inspired by the classic Amon Düül II song of the same name, Deutsch Nepal started with a deep and fascinating industrial ambient sound, enriched by hypnotic rhythms, voice samples and repetitive structures.

Deutsch Nepal belongs to the generation of "sound constructivists" of the early 1990s and ranks with In Slaughter Natives and Raison D'Etre among its most distinguished perpetrators.

DEAD LETTERS SPELL OUT DEAD WORDS

Dead Letters Spell Out Dead Words is the specter that haunts Sweden's Thomas Ekelund. A graphic designer, musician, and visual artist, Ekelund brings to his body of work a dark vision of brooding isolation tempered by the hope that salvation from the garbled ether of digital and... psychological pollution is possible.

After being diagnosed with a near crippling mental disease, Ekelund sought sanctuary in sound but recoiled from what he created. Ekelund stares into the shadow sounds that invade our lives and grind the spaces between us and sees his fractured reflection staring back. With his splintered mind as a guide, Ekelund plumbs the depths of noisy maelstroms and explores the currents of isolation and madness, conjuring emotive landscapes that draw blood as often as they heal.

Yet, the psychic violence of Ekelund's compositions cannot erase the sympathetic response they evoke. Through sonic alchemy, Ekelund transmutes buzzing drones, ominous atmospheres and dirge-like melodies into spaces where we can seek solace. For it is through these songs that we, like Ekelund, can find joy through pain, calm through anger, comfort through isolation, and peace through madness.

DEER HAPPY PLACE

DEER HAPPY PLACE are Romanie Marty (voice) and David Heizmann (Guitar).

Formed exlusively for this event the duo takes songs once written by tormented souls and wraps them into jazzy sadness.

Aidan Baker is a canadian musician & writer alternately based in toronto & berlin. He performs as a solo artist & w/ the groups Nadja, Whisper Room & Arc. A classically trained multi-instrumentalist, his primary instrument is the electric guitar with which he creates music ranging from experimental/drone to ambient post-rock to contemporary classical. He has released numerous albums on labels from around the world & has authored several books of prose/poetry.

THISQUIETARMY is the experimental guitar-based project of Eric Quach from Montreal, Canada – active since 2005. Revolving around improvised drone music, he takes his sonic experimentations further by adding textural and structural elements of post-punk/shoegaze, krautrock/spacerock & black/doom metal to them. The results can be described as dark, melodic, expansive & engaging dreamscapes. His live performances are mostly presented as a real-time score to hypnotic ethereal visuals, which he creates himself for each performance..

KRANKENZIMMER 204 is a project hailing from Lucerne/CH consisting mainly of mastermind Roman P. who started the project in 1981. Until 2009 it was his solo-project. Since 2010 he is supported by Adrian A. (drums), Remo S. (guitar), Javier Jotta Turion (electronics) und Pathriq (vocals). The music ranges from haunting experimental soundscapes to pure madness on electronic life-support. Roman likes to refer to his own music as being "Bügelbrett Industrial" ("Ironing Board Industrial"). Over 200 live appearances were given mainly in Switzerland and it's surrounding countries. Krankenzimmer 204 are currently promoting their new release "Fistel".

26.03.2011 - MARTIN FUHS / CLEM LEEK / HERPES Ö DELUXE

Clem Leek has kindly offered to play 2 distinct sets instead.

THE LODGE presents:

MARTIN FUHS / SECONDS IN FORMALDEHYDE (ger) + CLEM LEEK (gb) + HERPES Ö DELUXE (ch)
+ DJ Hollow Bone

05/02/2011 @ Bazillus Club, Zurich

Doors 20:00 // Concerts 21:00

MARTIN FUHS (a.k.a. SECONDS IN FORMALDEHYDE) is a german composer and soundartist who is working in the fields of modern classical music / contemporary electronic music. Born in 1987 he started to take music theory by the age of 10. Following musical lessons in classical guitar playing by the age of 12. Since then he progressed with his musical abilities by learning to play the piano and starting to write his first arrangements. Fuhs concentrates on classical influenced music that he mixes with modern elements of electronic music such as digital synthesis and sound processing. His instrument of choice is the piano allthough he also uses guitar sounds and field recordings.

Fuhs is influenced by artists like ryuichi sakamoto, harold budd and keith jarrett but at the same time also by composers like cliff martinez and thomas newman.

CLEM LEEK is a musician & composer from the UK South East. He has just completed his MA in Music Composition and is now releasing his first E.P, 'Through the Annular' on Schedios Records. Clem draws his influence from a number of sources, from the minimalist composers Steve Reich & Philip Glass and also such musicians as Keith Kennif, Max Richter, Matt Hales and many more, creating a beautiful mix of piano melodies and subtle instrumentation, all set to the crackle of a 78rpm record.

HERPES Ö DELUXE, formed 1995, is a four piece group from Bern/Switzerland working in a musical field between atmospheric noise, electronica bruitiste, sombre soundscapes or harsh drones. Their instruments are partly analogue electronic gear, partly self-built or deconstructed tools like tape loops or turntables that are (mis-)used as rhythm machines. Live performances - electronic and acoustic soundscapes, ranging from ambient sounds and playful collages to devastating, rhythmic noise attacks - always refer to the moment. According to this, an exclusive set is elaborated for every event, no one of which is ever performed again in the same form, because the spontaneous aspect would be lost and a reproduction would be in opposition to the interactive play of the four musicians, which depends strongly on the situation of a given event, without being improvised. Shows are often complemented with performance elements or other actions. Besides concerts in the traditional sense, Herpes Ö DeLuxe have been involved in numerous other activities; they made the live music for the theater 'Habgier', and regularly produce the soundtracks for the 'pyrotechnical interventions' of the artist Pavel Schmidt (Solothurn/Munich). Those events usually take place in museums or art spaces..... Sporadically they are also teaming up with singer Beat-Man (frontman of the well known Garage Rock/Punk-Band The Monsters). Under the name ..Reverend Beat-Man & The Church Of Herpes.. they are producing a more song-orientated brand of music, closer to the common 'pop'-scheme but with a noisy edge. They call this genre Electronic Gospel Trash.

05.02.2011 - EMPUSAE / FJERNLYS / CIRCULAR

THE LODGE presents:

EMPUSAE (be) + FJERNLYS (ger) + CIRCULAR (ger)
+ DJ Das Gummi

05/02/2011 @ Bazillus Club, Zurich

Doors 20:00 // Concerts 21:00
Space and seating are limited. Book your ticket online.

EMPUSAE is a project created by Nicolas Van Meirhaeghe aka Sal-Ocin. Empusae exercises a surreal science of structure that throbs and pulsates in an almost obsessive manner. The music is almost suggestive of a mechanical assembly line in its clock work clunks and clangs. It builds into a tense, yet haunting soundscape and rivets itself into the memory and refuses to be forgotten. It is serious music who's architecture has formed for itself a solid foundation, rather than sounding as if its trying to tear itself apart! When listening to Empusae's music, you're lost in dark melancholy, tribal electronic athmospheres and scarefull ambient rituals. It's music is not easy to categorise, some say ambient, industrial, electro and other... but Sal-Ocin describes his music as a sountrack for the listeners personal fantasies.

Being a member of various other project such as This Morn' Omina, Tzolk'in, Project Arctic and a live member of Ah Cama-Sotz, In Slaughter Natives, IC434, Sal-Ocin isn't afraid of working together with other artists.

FJERNLYS create warm and athmospheric ambient songs with hypnotic percussion, vibraphone and violin sounds and melodies on top of electronic soundscapes which adds up to wonderfully organic pieces of music. The poetic athmosphere of the meditatively spoken voice of CKS melts into the clear synth sounds and creates extraordinally melancholic songs through deep organic rhythms which are not only electronically performed in a live context but are also amended with guitar, melodica and violin to a sound cosmos which takes the listener into the "Inner Cinema".

CIRCULAR - to follow the unknown. With the Project CIRCULAR in 2006 Johannes Riedel released an outstanding debut at Leipzigs LOKI label that was followed by a split live album with INADE in 2007. The music of CIRCULAR leads into the fields of ruminant and hypnotic ambient music. Multilayered sounds from analogue synthesizer's and modules, mesmerizing pulses, melodic ambience, guitars and electronic bass paint the extraordinary aural world of CIRCULARs live concerts. Johannes Riedels classical music education guarantees fine arrangements with an superb aura of transcendence that is hard to subduct.

27.11.2010 - ROUM / FEINE TRINKERS... / RM74

THE LODGE presents:

TROUM (ger) + FEINE TRINKERS BEI PINKELS DAHEIM (ger) + RM74 (ch)

27/11/2010 @ Bazillus Club, Zurich

TROUM is a duo located in Bremen, Germany, established in early 1997. The two members (Martin Gitschel and Stefan Knappe) were active before in the influental ambient industrial group MAEROR TRI (which existed from 1988 to 1996). TROUM is the old german word for "DREAM". The dream seen as a central manifestation of the UNconscious symbolizes the aim of TROUM to lead the listener into a hypnotizing dream-state of mind, a pre-verbal and primal consciousness sphere. TROUM uses music as the direct path to the Unconscious, pointing to the archaic "essence" of the humans inner psyche. TROUM tries to create music that works like a direct transformation of unconscious matter.

TROUMs creations are influenced by post-industrial, minimal and drone-music. Both members use guitar, bass, voice, accordion, balalaika, flute, mouth-organ, melodica, gong, field recordings, pre-recorded-tapes and a diversity of sound-objects to build a kind of multi-layered and highly atmospheric dreaming-muzak. Their sound could be described as “dark atmospheric ambient industrial”, "transcendental noise" or just “Tiefenmusik”. TROUM doesn't work with synths, samplers or computer-soundsources, the sounds are created "by hand" to reach a broader sensibility. TROUM uses a spiral as their logo, expressing the trance-inducing potential of the music and the wish to reach inner, deeper spheres of the mind with it. Music as a door to unknown & alien dimensions. Music as an expression of the mystery of existence itself.

FEINE TRINKERS BEI PINKELS DAHEIM is the experimental music project of Jürgen Eberhard hailing out of Bremen, Germany. Having extensively toured everything from the Netherlands to Switzerland and Russia over the past two decades the project released unique vinyl CD and cassettes in multiple editions, usually personalised and with hand-painted artwork.

Every show of F.T.B.P.D. is a unique experience in itself - timeless and with an amazing attention to detail - truly a feast for the ears.

RM74 is the solo project of Swiss musician Reto Mäder who lives in Bern. His take on electronic music as it sits side by side with "real” instrumentation - organ, piano, harp, gong, guitar, kalimba, horn - is characterized by complex structures and dense, bizzare atmoshere. He meshes electronics with instruments in such a way as to make both sides of the fence talk to one another. It’s a cryptic and wide open language between drifting electro-acoustic music, minimal instrumental figures, drones, experimental electronics and slow-growing melodies. The tracks gain emotional resonance as they move among vexing swells of dense, rotting psychedelia.
Apart of RM74, Reto Mäder plays in the centrifugal Post-Noise-Drone-Rock duo Ural Umbo (with Steven Hess of Haptic, On and Pan American) as well as Pendulum Nisum (with Mike Reber of Herpes Ö DeLuxe) and in Sum Of R. He has produced albums for Rhys Chatham (The Bern Project, 2009) and for Herpes Ö DeLuxe (Kielholen, 2007). Since 2006 Reto Mäder runs the music label Hinterzimmer together with Roger Ziegler.

02.10.2010 - RAISON D'ETRE / ATOMINE ELEKTRINE / STROTTER INST.

THE LODGE presents:

RAISON D’ÊTRE
(swe) + ATOMINE ELEKTRINE (swe) + STROTTER INST. (ch)

02/10/2010 @ Bazillus Club, Zurich

Raison d'être is a Swedish industrial ambient music project formed by Peter Andersson in 1991 as a tool of expression with the goal of self-realization. The name of the band was taken from a sentence in a book by Carl Gustav Jung: "the individuation is the raison d’être of the self". Dark ambient atmospheres, drone elements, industrial sounds, ecclesiastical hymns are all blended together to constitute the music of Raison d'être. Deeply influenced by the writings of C.G.Jung, Raison d'être explores the depths of human psyche providing soundtracks for inner voyages towards the Tragic.
Raison d'être is probably the most known of Peter Andersson's projects. For one and a half decades now, and with a vast number of CD releases on the Cold Meat Industry label, it has been supplying listeners with overwhelming dark ambient industrial landscapes of beauty and sorrow while keeping a remarkably steady inspirational flow.

Atomine Elektrine is one of Peter Andersson's other projects with thematical interest in the vast space and small atoms and is named after a nuclear power plant and is in part inspired by the electronic space music of the 70's. Peter Andersson, let out his version of this musical direction in the beginning of 1992, and since then expressed on a number of CD releases.

Atomine Elektrine has done live-vj-performances a few times earlier but this performance in Zurich will be the first real live concert!

Live, STROTTER INST. is generating dense sound- and rhythm structures by using up to five modified and manipulated Lenco-turntables and various cut- or taped-up records. The music ranges from a low-fi rumble changing into concrete clicks and scrapes, followed by epic drones and multilayered broken beats to fall back into tricky bass-meditations.

Strotter Inst. prefers to play in the middle of the audience. The set is carefully adapted to the spacial and acoustic conditions at the venue and depends upon the uncertain behaviour of the machines. Hence, each live appearence becomes an acoustic original.

03.07.2010 - Simone Salvatori (SPIRITUAL FRONT solo) / COLLAPSAR

THE LODGE presents:

Simone Salvatori (SPIRITUAL FRONT solo) (it) + COLLAPSAR (fr)

03/07/2010 @ Bazillus Club, Zurich

Please note that space is limited! You can make a reservation till Saturday 3.7.2010 16:00 to klangkurier [a] gmail . com

SIMONE SALVATORI - Armageddon Gigolo - Italy's Nick Cave and Johnny Cash - nihilistic suicide pop folk - SPIRITUAL FRONT singer.

After successfully spending 4 years both on the road and in the studio, Spiritual Front are back, stronger than ever, with their new album 'Ro**en Roma Casino'.

Fronted by the charismatic Simone H. Salvatori, the band have been working in Rome with many different musicians (including the string quartet from the Ennio Morricone Orchestra, with whom they have already worked on the previous studio album 'Armageddon Gigolo'.) With 'Ro**en Roma Casino', Spiritual Front have created the new suicide pop manifesto, the perfect sensual soundtrack of your lives. Without any doubt the most perfect mixture of passionate refined pop, elegant southern vibes, astonishing folk wave, vicious tango and a spaghetti western inferno. These are pure feelings carved in music: love/hate anthems, sliding vibrato guitars, pulsing drums, fascinating orchestral parts! Lyrically based on the wild river of sensuality and hard feelings the story of the 'Rotten Roma Casino' is told by the biting lyrics of Simone H. Salvatori, who gambles his life at the most cruel casino ever seen before.

Now, Simone is coming to present old and new songs in an unplugged and almost intimate fashion - voice & acoustic guitar only! Those who are familiar with his work probably know what to expect: His shows with or without SPIRITUAL FRONT are simply charming, sexy, emotional, entertaining, powerful, professional and ... unforgettable!

COLLAPSAR

"Imagine a world in which a beam of light rose into the sky only to fall back to the ground at your feet. Or, picture an infinite continuum of parallel universes, each inhabited by slightly different parallel twins of yourself. Visualize a place in which all the laws of physics, that combine to make our universe the place that it is, vanish into inscrutable infinities. Welcome to the world of one nature's most bizarre phenomena: the black hole." (Robert W. Lindsay - December 01, 1993)

Inspired by writers (such as William S. Burroughs, H.P. Lovecraft, Isaac Asimov, Philip K. Dick) and musical projects (Lustmord, SPK, Skinny Puppy, Dead Can Dance, Bad Sector and In Slaughter Natives to call a few) Thibaud, head of Collapsar, documents a twisted and bizarre world out of time an space as we know it.

The first album "Beyond the Event Horizon" has just recently been released on the US-based Malignant Records label and is said to "transport the listener on an epic journey deep into the cosmos, forging a path across a vast, inky void, and steering a course around a roiling galactic core of hyper-dense stars and black holes."

Without doubt, the sound is epic, expansive, and most of all, HEAVY. There is beauty and tranquility within these realms, but there is no light - just massive, pulsating textures coalescing into shimmering drones, rippling sound waves, and billowing, multi-dimensional layers of powerful dark energy. A must for fans of Inade, Lustmord and the like.

20.03.2010 - THO-SO-AA / SUM OF R / B°TONG

THE LODGE presents:

THO-SO-AA (ger) + SUM OF R (ch) + B°TONG (ch)

+ DJ Hollow Bone

20/03/2010 @ Bazillus Club, Zurich
Doors: 20:00, Concerts: 21:00, Entry CHF 30.-

It is recommended to use our ticket presale as the number of total admissions will be very limited.

THO-SO-AA

Lutz Rach (THO-SO-AA) in an old interview about the bands history: "My first project AADOM/Christbearing was formed in 1993 by Brian Bray and myself. After two releases Brian left the band. At this time I searched for new sounds. I was impressed from sounds like Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk and John Carpenter. This was the time when THO-SO-AA was born. THO-SO-AA means THe Other - Side Of - AAdom. It was for me a new and exciting way to create music - like a vision. I found the sounds I was looking for for a long time. So it was a magic moment for me. THO-SO-AA contains my personal environment. It contains hate. Hate for e.g. capitalism or god. Everything which is normal in Europe."
SUM OF R

SUM OF R is a side project of Reto Mäder (RM74, Ural Umbo), for which he is joined by two members of Herpes Ö DeLuxe (Roger Ziegler & Christoph Hess aka Strotter Inst.) to create slow moving episodes of hypnotic and perplexing music led by a psychedelic understanding of minimal soundforms.
"SUM OF R’s sound shifts from doomed cinematic guitar descends to electric guitar music box-ism meets death tolling and the shimmering of 50’s sci-fi rise and ebb".
"SUM OF R don't really trying to oblige to specific genre but leaning on the mood and the expression of their output. You hear some SunnO))) riffs coming from the back, but then it becomes a post-apocalyptic Canadian post-rock, moves into the minor dark-ambient or blackened chamber doom".
B°TONG
B°TONG is Chris Sigdell, former member of NID (1995 - 2005), and guitarist/singer in Phased. b°tong reaches for the nether regions of experimental electronic sound but is never quite serious. b°tong's music varies from dark ambient layers of sound, brooding drones, itchy-scratchy tones to weird electronics and/or harsh noise. b°tong deconstructs and recycles samples from television, radio and/or films, he records natural and artificial sounds, and he processes and distorts his own voice.
In a live situation, he uses microphones, sampler, and "instruments" such as: metal sheet and spring, various kitchen utensils and an orgon emitter. The sounds thus generated are run through various effects giving birth to images of darkness and tranquility, the solitude of icy polar night, or the equivalent of an underwater journey down a bottomless pit!

10.10.2009 - BAD SECTOR / NEW RISEN THRONE / MARRAKUU

THE LODGE presents:

BAD SECTOR (I) + NEW RISEN THRONE (I) + MARRAKUU (CH)

+ DJ Hollow Bone

10/10/2009 @ Bazillus Club, Zurich
Doors: 21:00, Concerts: 22:00, Entry CHF 30.-

It is recommended to use our ticket presale as the number of total admissions will be very limited.

BAD SECTOR

Bad Sector was born as a personal creation of Massimo Magrini, who is living in Tuscany. Magrini has collaborated for long time with the Computer Art Lab of ISTI in Pisa (one of the institutes by CNR – National Research Institute of Italy) releasing original gesture interfaces to be used in many live performances in Italy, Spain, Greece, Cuba. This big experience together with the experiences done with post-punk bands in the late 80’s brought in 1993 to the birth of the Bad Sector project, which is a mix of electronic experimentation, usually dark emotions, ambient and industrial. His first CD “Ampos”, released in 1995 (recently reprinted with additional unreleased material), was immediately received very well both by critics and audience. In the next years the many different releases, also the more experimental ones (like Plasma in 1997), gave popularity to the project in the international electronic underground scene. The success of Bad Sector was built also with the many live performances (among others in Belgium, England, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, UK, France, Russia, Lithuania, Poland, Australia …), a sort of hyper-DJ set in which Magrini often uses particular self-built gesture “controllers”. In the recent years, beside Bad Sector, Magrini formed the project Olhon, together with the Where leading member Zairo. This project explores the territories between dark ambient and concrete experimental music using sounds recorded in extreme locations (caves, underwater etc.). After many years Magrini still maintains his fundamentally experimental but surprisingly “pop” guiding lines.

NEW RISEN THRONE

Italian dark ambient project founded by Stiehl (real name: Gabriele Panci). Stiehl himself describes New Risen Throne as “cold and desolate soundscapes that will leave you feeling utterly scared and alone.”
He is also a member of the dark ambient “hybrid” creature called Konau, along with Subinterior’s Andrea Freschi. The latest release "Crossing The Withered Regions" has recently been published on Cold Meat Industry

MARRAKUU

Once upon a time, on a cold November night in the year 2005, Sebastian and Tina came together for a musical recommencement. And, thus the project Marrakuu was born. To establish a profound depth in the universe of sound one thing was inevitable: Marrakuu needed strings! For this reason, the duo was transformed into a band, thanks to Ambrosius and Ali, whos musical ideas were one more step into Marrakuus soulful sounds.

Together, their melancholic music shifts between shadowy dances and large looming beats. Each composition has a charismatic interior life which strives irresistibly towards an unconventional landscape of sounds. Their rich experiences, gained from former and current sound projects with the most distinctive of music styles, stamps Marrakuu as kind of a new genre of music.
